****************Heroine of "Hero of the Hills"
GIRLOF THE GOLDEN WEST
In this film, as with "Flash Gordon", Priscilla
plays the woman in love with the hero, but alas, he loves another. She
plays Nina Martinez who is in love with Ramerez. As a boy, he was adopted
by Mexican bandits and becomes their leader with a Robin Hood mystique.
The hero is played by none other than Nelson Eddy and, of course, his
love interest is Jeanette MacDonald. When Nina discovers she has been
jilted, she plots to betray the hero to the local sheriff, played by
a suave Walter Pidgeon. Her plan is to collect the reward money and
prevent anyone from having the man she loves.
In the first picture, Priscilla is introduced as the vibrant
Nina thrilled to see her hero return safely from another raid. The next
picture is from her only romantic scene with Nelson ending with him
singing a song. Unfortunately, she doesn't realize he is dreaming of
the unknown girl who he first heard sing the song. In the third picture,
we see her reaction to being told that there is another woman in Ramerez's
life. Lastly, as she eyes the reward poster, she begins to form her
betrayal plot which, in the best Hollywood tradition, fails miserably.
